Appreciation

Everyday I use these beautiful dish towels. Most days they are used to clean countertops, dry dishes, wipe up messes, and grab those mac and cheese fingers before they finger paint on my fabric couches. Most days they are just part of the cleaning…something I really don’t enjoy. Something I usually don’t really think about too much.
Today they have caught my attention …they seemed to have spoken out to me and made me realize what a treasure they are. You see, they have all been hand-stiched by the hands of my Grandmother. Hours…days I am sure, spent crafting these beautiful little dish towels. An heirloom in reality…almost a crime that I actually clean with them.
I love these Grandma…I appreciate the time that you put into making these beautiful treasures for all of us. So, I am sharing other things that have been made my loved ones. Equally as precious, and made especially for me and my girls. You see, it is so easy to take for granted the amount of time people really do put into the things you may have. I understand this now that I love to craft things by hand too.
Here is one of the “Wendy” dresses that my Mom made for my girls for a special party we were having. I didn’t ask her to…she just thought of it on her own and spent hours late into the night making them. My girls love them and beg to wear them so much, I am worried they will wear them out! Thanks Mom!

Another amazing embroidered creation by My grandmother. This was given to me when I was expecting Ella. Whenever I get this out, I just have to stare at it…there are so many stiches and it is just perfect. Overflowing with beauty, color, and love…thanks Grandma!

And lastly, this sweet crib bedding made by my sister, Alana. She is so busy with her sweet 3 little children and her own sewing projects, but she made this for me when I was expecting Mia. I love it so much and even more because she made it. Love ya, Lolly!

to be loved…

This post is full of just that…Love sweet Love. My brother is getting married Saturday and we are so excited for the big day! Here are my 3 girls in their wedding duds that have been the source of some late nights…(Jason..”you are just coming to bed and it is 2 am”…yikes!). I can’t complain though, because I love the quiet of the night and some time to truly indulge in what I really love to do. This is the first thing I have sewed just for Mia and that was a special treat. These little sets are too cute pint sized!

Yeah…Ava finally has enough hair for her first barrette. I love it! She is so precious in these shots. I am in trouble though, now that I let them photo on this console I can’t seem to keep them off it it. Lots of fun! Ava is such a big girl and loves to sing her ABC song and all the primary songs we learn at nursery. She is taking on her twos with grace and style and definitely some sass!

Ella is a wonderful big sister and we all seem to look up to her. She loves to take care of Mia in the car and at home. We love you very much Ella and are so proud of the little person that you are growing into…(sniff…sniff…I can’t believe how fast she grew from my baby.)
A little tummy time for miss Mia while the big girls are playing with Daddy. You are rolling from both sides and growing more & more each day! We love to make you laugh and we can tell that you already can not wait until you can get into all the action with E & A.

For your enjoyment…

This little girl really knows how to work what she has got! “Give us your look, Ava” and this is the face she loves to sport. Such a cutie and has a personality all her own. My little lefty, firecracker, go-getter…she is spirited, sweet, completely adorable and a blessing to have as my little girl. I was browsing through pics and couldn’t resist a post about this little gal.
