Appreciation

Everyday I use these beautiful dish towels. Most days they are used to clean countertops, dry dishes, wipe up messes, and grab those mac and cheese fingers before they finger paint on my fabric couches. Most days they are just part of the cleaning…something I really don’t enjoy. Something I usually don’t really think about too much.
Today they have caught my attention …they seemed to have spoken out to me and made me realize what a treasure they are. You see, they have all been hand-stiched by the hands of my Grandmother. Hours…days I am sure, spent crafting these beautiful little dish towels. An heirloom in reality…almost a crime that I actually clean with them.
I love these Grandma…I appreciate the time that you put into making these beautiful treasures for all of us.So, I am sharing other things that have been made my loved ones. Equally as precious, and made especially for me and my girls. You see, it is so easy to take for granted the amount of time people really do put into the things you may have. I understand this now that I love to craft things by hand too.
Here is one of the “Wendy” dresses that my Mom made for my girls for a special party we were having. I didn’t ask her to…she just thought of it on her own and spent hours late into the night making them. My girls love them and beg to wear them so much, I am worried they will wear them out! Thanks Mom!

Another amazing embroidered creation by My grandmother. This was given to me when I was expecting Ella. Whenever I get this out, I just have to stare at it…there are so many stiches and it is just perfect. Overflowing with beauty, color, and love…thanks Grandma!

And lastly, this sweet crib bedding made by my sister, Alana. She is so busy with her sweet 3 little children and her own sewing projects, but she made this for me when I was expecting Mia. I love it so much and even more because she made it. Love ya, Lolly!

first of all, i LOVE those sweet outfits in the last post!!
i, too, have dishcloths almost exactly like this except the writing is in red. they are from my husband’s grandma. i love that you’re using them as well. i feel like it’s much more respectful to use them and wipe those precious, grimy, little fingers than let them be packed away in a hutch! beautiful things! =)
