{first days}

ella woke early this morning…she was brimming with anticipation as she knew today was her first day of Preschool.

great grandpa and grandma sponsered the very first school clothes shopping trip (thanks so much!) and she was as girly as could be picking her clothes out, matching outfits, and trying them on in the dressing room.

 while Mia and Ava slept, we had breakfast together, did our hair, painted toes and fingers in lovely shades of pink and red, and just had a sweet morning together…

I was so happy to pick her up (even just after 3 hours, I was sorely missing her sweet little face and voice in my home).  Mixing feelings of “my baby is growing up” and pregnancy hormones does some crazy things to my emotions.

The letter of the Day: B

ella you are

beautiful, brave, blithe, beaming, blissful, blessed…

I am so excited for you to grow up so gracefully…

and no matter how it tugs on my heart to watch you change into a girl in the twinkling of an eye…I know I am so blessed to hold all you in my arms now…I relish and take every chance I can…

this last image reminds me ever so quietly that inside you is the woman that you will one day be…may I teach you to always be as kind, honest, loving, and just as beautiful as you are in this very moment…

(I know, I know…it is only preschool!  We are not shopping for wedding dresses or anything!!! *geesh*)

love you sweet ella bella…

xoxo

What a fun new adventure. Ella looks amazing in the photos. I am impressed with how well she writes her name. Great job Ella!

Believe me when I say I TOTALLY get it! Our school started two months ago, but everything you feel is exactly what I felt!! I had NO idea what to do with myself those first couple of weeks, but now we have a routine down and to be honest, it is actually a much appreciated three hour break for me!! Huntler LOVES every single thing about school and is learning so, so much. Much more than I could ever teach him. And although he is literally growing up before my very eyes, he is thriving and that is something every mother wants for her children. I am sure before long it will become natural and you too will learn to love those three hours of no fighting (although you still have two at home and I only have one!!) and the memories you make with your ones at home while the oldest is off learning days of the week and how to spell her name!

Wow, Ella did great work at her first day of preschool. She does a lovely job writing her name, and her “B’s” are up to kindergarten level. I hope she enjoys her little class and enjoys a lifetime of learning new things.

Just wait unti she goes to high school! My never-crying husband had the “task” of taking sterling to school on the first day of high school…that is really really hard! I am dreading high school graduation in two and a half years. Oh how they grow up to fast!!!! Enjoy your little ones! I wish I could slow down time, it is just moving so fast! Congratulations Ella on being a big girl and your first day of school! You look very, very pretty and grown up!

ah, she is looking so grown up. i love how you had some mommy time with her before school…it’s those little bits of thoughtfulness on your part that will help form who she will become as she matures and her character strengthens. no wonder you have such sweet children–you pour your sweetness in to them.
