June 12th was perhaps the best day I have had with photography in my life…
that is huuuuge…
you see…I adore photography…and to say that this was the most fun i’ve had with it…is saying a whole lot!
I won’t lie…last minute nerves, a home full of sick kiddos, and a hard working husband putting in extra hours all week may not have been the perfect way to prime my first workshop experience…
but saturday rolled around…somehow the house got cleaned…my kiddos were all healthy…the flu passed over me (miracle)…and all the details I dreamt up came together so perfectly…
it was an incredible day!
i dedicated this day to sincere, honest, and complete coverage of what I am doing in my business…creating joy with a camera and finding yourself as the artist to create beautiful images…
and it was a total joy…
(pun intended…)
first of all…a huge shout out goes to my friend and creative counterpart/domestic diva extraoirdinaire…
ms. Kristina Kendig
…for helping out with so much of the day.
She brought in 2 amazing meals, quilted a custom quilt for my family shoot, created a beautiful bouquet for my couple shoot, baked the world’s best cookies and cupcakes, and just helped to make the day go smoothly.
Kristina. you. are. amazing.
the end.
(thank you for all your help!)
and a shout out to my sis Gena for coming out to the workshop and snapping all these amazing detail shots! It was so great having you there gena!
oh yes…i can work a laptop while holding the mark 2 and talking to a home full of photographers…we are talking serious skills here
You gotta be able to laugh at yourself…and I am getting pretty good at that!
After a few hours of instruction we headed out to a local airport to talk about shooting in full sun, less than optimum lighting situations, shooting in full manual mode, and tips and tricks to shooting families…
that is where my amazing and beautiful friend Charlene comes in…
she and her family were perfect for this! They even let me dress them up for the shoot (i nabbed this complete wardrobe/accessories..little miss B’s too…at forever 21 for less than 120 bucks! wahoo!)
(thanks for being a good sport Todd
)
something tells me he didn’t mind so much having this beautiful lady in his arms…
Charlene and Todd have an adorable little girl…miss B was perfect for the shoot…beautiful and spirited…she kept us on our toes![]()
nothing like a little time with just mom and dad…
charlene was killing me here…
love love love this next series…
(thank you guys so much for allowing 14 camera’s in your face! You were amazing! Charlene…you were both fierce and beautiful!!)
After a hefty dose of photoshop/workflow/and business discussion (and perhaps the most amazing salad I have ever tasted in my life…again, thank you kristina)…
we headed out to shoot this completely. stunning. couple.
I was so honored to feature an out of this world amazing netted veil/headpiece by the treasured petal
I told designer, kristin of the treasured petal, that I wanted something a bit vintage with a twist of color…I adore what she came up with!
(head to her etsy store too…great stuff!!!)
and I was head over heels in love with the amazing skills of Sandi Bugbee of SASH Makeup Artistry
Jessica is an true beauty, but Sandi made an already gorgeous girl…simply stunning!
THANK YOU SANDI!!!!
(and yes…kristina’s magic again…she made this bouquet completely from scratch all out of fabric…burlap, tulle, polyester…and a few feathers and rhinestone buttons…u were killing me kristina!)
Mike is not too shabby himself…loved how debonaire and handsome he looked!
gorgeous couples all meet in jail…true story…i busted them out to model for me…cuz they are that good…
(don’t worry they both work in the jails…they don’t live there…)
a shout out to Ella’s Kindergarten teacher too for offering this dress for Jess to wear for the shoot…yup..ella’s kindergarten teacher is um…slightly smokin hot…has the cutest wardrobe…and was so so so sweet to let us borrow this amazing find! (thanks Britte)!
i was so so so happy that the clouds scattered and we were able to dedicate this shoot to backlighting…
as you can see…we had some buttery beautiful light!
i am so thankful for all my new friends and I am so excited to continue to share this passion with them!
(you can check some of the attendees blogs that they shared with me! I don’t have all your links girls…so send them over and I will add them!)
