no such thing as grumpy baby :)

i first met heather at my first photography workshop…she was among an amazing group of photographers…each of whom I was just delighted to get to know and spend the day with…
a few weeks after the workshop, her sister in law thought of the raddest gift for her for her birthday…a gift cert. for a session with me!
I was elated and so excited to get her and her gorgeous family in front of my camera…

you see…she is kinda sorta…well slightly…

beautiful…

’nuff said.

heather is a fabulous photographer…head over and check her out!

ok, her little warren is just about the cutest little baby boy I have ever laid eyes on…

i have a feeling that he is very very very well taken care of in this little family!

who doesn’t end a family session and swear their child did not smile one time for the camera?

Heather…I promised you…despite the cute little baby funk he was in, his near choking, and even puking on the photographer ;)

we got lots of joy outta your little guy…

(deep sigh) he is so darling…

I am sure he feel so comfortable and confident in this world…good on you for showing him love and goodness in the world…

i could have shot you two all week and on sunday!

you are so lucky to have each other…

and this little angel too…

(i love the way he is looking at you here)

enjoy the goodness you have been blessed with Heather…

give it back to the world :)

you and mark are so blessed!

give that little guy a kiss and a hug for me!

baby clare: month one

the 22nd of each month over the next 11 months will be a very special day…

that is the day…I get to visit this beautiful baby girl and document the first year of her life…

it is amazing to watch how quickly they grow…i cherish these photos…i love these little girls…i am so blessed to be a part of this…

clare is one month old here…

she is such a little doll…

i always order up a sleepy baby when I do infant sessions…these sessions are tough…one of the hardest things to shoot at times…when baby is awake…

so we got her milk drunk…

and it was snoozing time…

and she was getting some serious beauty sleep…

this one below is my fav for some reason…

(thanks to big sister Kate for letting us borrow her pink chair for the shoot!)

an A+ kinda day…

our summer has flown by…

and this morning was greeted with much excitement…

1st grade was lucky enough to have Ella…

and kindergarten was oh so lucky to gain this little rockstar…

we had our “mommy Ella” and “mommy Ava” dates to go find the perfect academic attire…

found out classroom numbers and teachers names…

filled backpacks and lunch bags…

and worked on some signature “rockstar-ness” in prep for the BIG day!

(the girls opted to go see grandma rather than have our big photo shoot the other night…and that is ok…I just want to remember these times…how they looked…the excitement in their faces…and these images are perfect to me)

perfectly sassy…

and completely ava…

(adam is already giving me the “ok…cheese…take my darn pic mom and let me play”… face.  He has got dirt to eat,  retaining walls to climb, and bikes to push around like wrecking vehicles ;) )

I was just so excited for this one to come out of her shell and be so ready for school…we all were so happy to see her thrive…

no words for the rest…the images tell the story…

i love you girls…

so proud of my school girls!

my version of the story…

There is one thing that I continue to learn in my life…and that is what we see is really up to us.  Perspective.  It is a pretty amazing gift that we have been given…the ability to see goodness in all things if we want.

Much of my attraction to photography is being able to see the beauty in everything around me.  With my camera, I write a story…wordless tales of 4 beautiful young children who steal their mother’s heart with the whimsical and even exhausting and “naughty” things they do.  I write the first chapters to the great novels of life of a fresh bride and groom as they  start their life together.  I fall in love with the beautiful little souls of each baby I meet…and cherish the families that come to me to show them how beautiful they are together.  Photos grab my heart.  They focus on the people I love.  The immortalize the people you love.  They give us reason to love and appreciate the good and beautiful in our lives…

We all have it.  Perspective.  It is just a habit.  The choice we make each time we judge the appearance of anything.

Can you see my perspective of this incredible little family?

I sit here now looking through these images…and I am so thankful for Jen & Ram and their sweet little Mia and for the chance to meet and photography their little family.

We had a tricky time with schedules and sick babies…but we finally met up and I loved shooting their family!

There is a whole lotta beauty to be found here…

I won’t lie…mom is always the VIP of the photo shoot…She is usually the one who contacts me, organizes schedules to make it work, shops for the perfect coordinating outfits, smiles through the stress of the task of having family portraits done, and usually has to drag out dad to be a good sport.  It is a tough job.  I have been there.  Not an easy task at all…and every mom just gets an automatic VIP pass for it :)

Jen is beautiful, smart, and collected…if she was stressed, I had no idea…the clothes all looked adorable…

and I kinda don’t think…

there was much coercion getting her handsome man out for some pictures with her… :)

these two just belong…both teachers….both laid back…both good looking…

and the whole being in love part doesn’t hurt much either…

the product of all that…just about one of the smartest, cutest, happiest little 15 month olds on the planet!

nothing like our babies to bring perspective of how beautiful life is…just to have them…their health…such a gift…

jen and ram…u guys are pretty blessed…

i love that I get to share my version of your story…right now…in this amazing time of your lives together…

it is busy…and you just have to laugh at the hard things that come along…

and we all know that having little ones in our home makes things incredible and tricky at the same time…

mia is a doll…she is love…a little miracle…

she is sassy…

beautiful…

silly…

and so much fun!

(i am so excited about her being a big sister soon!)

so much more incredible stuff is waiting…

xoxo
