Can a lifeboat survive a tsunami?
We have two kinds of lifeboats that are resilient against tsunami and flood. Type 1 is equipped with shock absorbing material and Type 2 is equipped without it.

The crests of tsunami waves may be more than a hundred kilometers or more away from each other. Therefore, passengers on boats at sea, far away from shore where the water is deep, will not feel nor see the tsunami waves as they pass by underneath at high speeds.
Can lifeboats capsize?
In wild winds and stormy seas, volunteer crews depend on their lifeboats to keep them safe while out on a rescue – even if it turns upside down. Many lifeboats in the RNLI’s fleet can bring themselves the right way up if the powerful elements cause them to capsize.
Do lifeboats have motors?

Can modern lifeboats sink?
Ship-launched lifeboats are lowered from davits on a ship’s deck, and are hard to sink in normal circumstances.
