What color pick guard for a sunburst strotocaster?
Parchment or aged white pup covers, switch tip, knobs and trem arm tip, with a mint green guard on a sunburst Strotocaster is about as classic as you can get! It is however, my considered opinion that all those bits need to match well to not look silly and/or out of place. Of course, this is true with any color pick guard!
Does mint pickguard go with a sunburst Tele?
I don’t think mint pickguard goes with any guitar, certainly not with sunburst. I’d say keep the white of course it is your taste at the end of the day. Sun City, Az. Contrary to Mr ozzocom’s oppinion, I think that M/G goes with most all colors, I have one on my sunburst Tele, and it looks great!
What is the best pickguard for a Strat?
Maple or rosewood makes a huge difference, IMO. For instance, a maple board Strat with a mint pickguard is atrocious, IMO, of course. I went with black anodized aluminum with HSS tex-mex pickups.
