Can I install my own cold air intake?

After you have your cold air intake, it’s time to install it. Don’t bother spending a fortune to have the dealer or a body shop install it — you can easily complete the installation yourself by following the steps below. Make sure your engine is cool to the touch.

Can I run a CAI without a tune?

You can run an intake without a tune, but the stock airbox with a drop-in filter makes more power.

Does a cold air intake need a tune?

Can A Cold Air Intake Damage Your Engine? A no-tune-required cold air intake, if properly installed and maintained, will not damage your engine. However, you have to be more careful with tune-required cold air intakes. Tune-required intakes use a larger tube diameter for increased airflow to the engine.

What are the different sizes of the APR carbon fiber intake system?

APR Carbon Fiber Intake System – C8 2.9T S6 and S7 APR Carbon Fiber Intake System – MLB 1.8T, 2.0T and 2.0 TDI APR Carbon Fiber Intake System – MLB V6 and V8

What is the APR intake system?

The APR Intake system dramatically out performs the factory intake system and improves upon the previous design. As performance increases, so does the importance of a high-flow high-quality intake system as a large pressure drop forms between the factory intake’s inlet and outlet.

Does the APR system block the engine cooling duct?

NOTE: Unlike many intake designs with a full frontal scoop, the APR system does NOT block the factory engine cooling duct found on the opposite side of the factory intake system. APR’s design requirements called for an intake filter medium that exhibited high flow capabilities, long service life and adequate filtration properties.

What is the difference between PCV and APR intake system?

The PCV system conveniently connects to the intake via a billet aluminum adapter. Lastly, the system uses a flex coupler that allows adequate engine movement and flex. The APR Intake system dramatically out performs the factory intake system and improves upon the previous design.
